My Vision for St. Catharines

Since 2006, we have been working hard to make St. Catharines better. Now the real work begins.

There will be challenges ahead and we will need real local solutions – not just platitudes – to keep your city moving forward.

For the first time in a generation, St. Catharines is getting its fair share.  Since I was first elected, the federal government has responded by investing more than $372 million in our city.

Now we must build on those investments.  Working together, we can make a better St. Catharines that the next generation will call home.

Dramatically reducing payroll taxes by 20% by 2017 will help the 7,000 businesses in St. Catharines expand, create more jobs and mean more take-home pay for their employees.

Dreams of Home Ownership Could Be A Reality for 700,000 Canadians

The dream of owning your first home could come true for more and more young people and families in St. Catharines who may be able to afford to buy their first house thanks to measures to increase the Home Buyers’ Plan, enhancements to Tax-Free Savings Accounts and a permanent Home Renovation Tax Credit. Today, Prime Minister Stephen Harper touted his plan for affordable, responsible home ownership in Canada. He announced that a re-elected Conservative Government would aim to add more than 700,000 new homeowners to Canada’s rolls by 2020.
